Seasons
In The Witch of Fern Island, the calendar year is broken up into six seasons, and each season consists of twenty days.
- The year begins on Bloom 1st and ends on Frost 20th.
- The seasons, in order, are called Bloom, Storm, Bask, Harvest, Reverie, and Frost.

Moon Phases
The moon phase is an important part of the gameplay because it can affect your ability to interact with magical chests and the quality of items you get.
- Under Options > Gameplay, you can enable or disable "Show moon phase in HUD." It is a good option to have turned on!
- There are eight moon phases in the game. The moon phases, in order, are called New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, and Waning Crescent. Once each phase has appeared in order, the cycle restarts with a New Moon.

Resources Affected by Seasons and Moon Phases
In-Game Calendar
The in-game calendar can be accessed by opening your inventory and selecting the Calendar icon in the top bar to open it.
- Calendar Explanation:
- A) How many days you have played.
- B) Which season you are in, and how many days are left.
- C) The moon phase.
- D) What your fortune is.
- E)What random Timed Event is occurring right now.
- F) The season you are in. The arrows on either side allow you to move between the calendar pages to view other seasons.
- G) The current day you are in.
- H) The calendar shows the birthdays and special events that occur in that season.

Timed Events
Timed events can be viewed on the in-game calendar and last for a short period. The event description will give you hints on what to do.
- Note: These are not a quest in the usual sense of the word, as there is no one to talk to and no reward other than an increase in the quality or quantity of items.
Calm Days
This is a neutral event, where no good or bad things happen.Cuflow Rush

This is an event that will have a negative impact on your Cuflows. Be sure to have Cuflow medicine on hand!Fishing Time
During this event, you will see this fish more often than normal.Flowers Blooming
During this event, the flower type listed will grow in large quantities if they are in season. If they are not in season, a greenhouse can be used.Herbs Overgrow
During this event, the herb type listed will grow in large quantities if they are in season. If they are not in season, a greenhouse can be used.Honey Harvest
During this event, any honey you get from using a bug net to capture a bee, or harvesting a beehive will increase in quality, often yielding a master quality level honey.Magic Streams
During this event, any essences you distill using the essence extractor will have double output.Mushroom Picking
During this event, the mushroom type listed will grow in large numbers if they are in season. A greenhouse can be used with a mushroom log if they are not in season.Snails Invasion
As the name implies, snails are out in massive numbers during this event, and you will need to spend a lot of time clearing them from your garden!Time of Sowing
During this event, the vegetable type listed, when planted, will yield a better-quality product when harvested and grow faster than normal. If they are out of season, a greenhouse can be used.
